Lot Essay

Pedro (1874-1882) was the favourite dog of Annabel, Lady Boughy, wife of Sir Thomas Fletcher Boughy, 4th Baronet. This poodle was crossed with a spaniel and founded the line of Aqualate spaniels bred at Aqualate for approximately 100 years. Aqualate Hall was designed by John Nash in 1808. In its park the dog is commemorated by a marble obelisk.
