The Ann Murry box with an old auction description inscribed 'A SMALL SNUFF-BOX, formed of a shell with silver mount, engraved Ann Murray (sic) the daughter of the Regent Murray, half brother to Mary Queen of Scots, and it has remained in the possession of her descendants'
