A LARGE MALAYIR CARPET
WEST PERSIA, CIRCA 1900
The indigo field with an overall design of seven columns of golden yellow and rust-red cartouche panels linked by serrated leaves and flowering vine each containing a polychrome boteh filled with floral sprays, in a mid-blue entwined leafy vine border between golden yellow floral meander and diagonally striped minor stripes, full pile throughout, scattered repairs and reweaves with a minute hole in the centre
