Of sixteenth century Tabriz medallion design, the pale sea-green field densely filled with a delicate arabesque lattice overlaying fine flowering vine around a central concentric cusped rust-red medallion containing palmettes and flowering vine enclosing a similar smaller indigo medallion, an ivory cartouche and rust-red anchor palmette above and below, the Petag "cintamani" signature in one corner, in a dusty-red entwined strapwork arabesque and palmette border between ivory floral meander and pale green flowerhead and baton minor stripes, overall excellent condition
