Of "Vase" design, the dusty raspberry-red field with a scrolling flowering vine lattice enclosing individual floral sprays, in a pale apricot strapwork border of scrolling arabesques and split-palmettes between sage-green flowerhead and apricot flowering vine stripes, the Petag cintamani signature in one corner, localised areas of wear, minor damage in outer stripe at one end

The source for the elegant single-plane lattice design of the present lot is a vase-technique fragment published by Friedrich Sarre from his own collection, (Friedrich Sarre and Hermann Trenkwald: Altorientaliche Teppiche, Vienna and Leipzig, 1928, pl.8.).
