Each reserved with a central foliate panel enamelled with figures conversing in a moonlit river landscape, the rim surrounded by eight cartouches enclosing plants issuing from rockwork alternating with similar landcapes, all reserved on a powder-blue ground embellished with gilt floral stems, one rim slightly restored

Lot Essay

These type of dishes with a 'powder blue' ground and white reserves in a famille verte palette were in vogue from about 1715 and 1725 and were considered as expensive pieces for display.
