Cal. 722 nickel-finished lever movement, 17 jewels, the black matt dial with applied baton numerals with luminous accents, luminous hands, outer tachymetre scale, three subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours registers, in tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case with screw back and screw down crown, two round chronograph buttons in the band, together with a stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

Reference 6238 is the immediate predecessor of reference 6239, the first Cosmograph Daytona released by Rolex. It was made in stainless steel, 18K gold as well as a small series in 14K gold destined for the North American market.
