Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming manufacture of the present watch in 1957 and its subsequent sale on 23 August 1958.

Reference 2551 was in production from 1954 until around 1960 when it was replaced by reference 3433.

It is thought that only three examples of reference 2551 in white gold have appeared in public. The present watch is furthermore the only example without diamond indexes known to date. It is the first time that this watch is offered at auction.
