The slip-painted white interior with bold sepia kufic inscription, a small dot in the centre, the exterior plain white, glaze partly degraded, some repaired breaks

Lot Essay

The inscription repeats the word al-hurr (The free man) which is probably the beginning of a saying attributed to 'Ali often found on similar wares.
