Of drop form on short vertical foot, the sides moulded with a band of roundels each containing confronted animals or mythical creatures, the interstices filled with scrolling arabesques and a signature, a band of palmettes and interlaced strapwork below, a band of gadrooning above and below, the top moulded with a stylized concentric rosette, small stopper sealing access to the interior, the underside also with a simpler rosette, surface slightly rubbed, intact

Lot Essay

The upper spandrels contain the signature of the maker: amal-e Muhammmad ibn ...... The last word is difficult to decipher.
