TWO QAJAR PAINTED AND LACQUERED MOULDED WOODEN SHUTTERS
IRAN, CIRCA 1870
Each of rectangular form, the face of both together forming a white field with moulded scrolling arabesques enclosing panels of flowering vine and perching birds around a concentric blue and red floral medallion with pendants, the spandrels similar, in a light green flowering vine and cartouche border between red floral stripes, the interior of each with a central pictorial cartouche depicting Zulaykha and her ladies on one and Yusuf in Zulaykha's chamber on the other, flanked above and below by shaped light green and red panels of flowering vine, ivory cusped cartouche with flowering vase and perching bird above and below, all on blue flowering vine ground, in narrow gold similar border, very slight damages and retouching, generally good condition
