Fan

The present Fan is one of a project of nine painted large scale fans. The series was executed between 2001-2003. Only eight of the fans were realized. The fan's shape and its landscape subject hints at its traditional Japanese origin, yet it is executed in a manner which suits the artist's present days concerns with fragmentation, serial execution and computer like layering of the paint.
