Attributed to Hermann Böhm, Last quarter 19th Century
The architectural case applied allover with scrolling foliage and putti, the domed top surmounted by a man astride a hippogriff, over a pentagonal tier with niches set with Roman soldiers, above a further tier set with five dials with Roman chapters, the lower cylindrical section with two enamelled bands painted with reserves of mythological scenes, surrounded by five columns with soldier finials, on a star shaped base with grotesque-mask feet

An identical model timepiece, bearing marks for Hermann Böhm, was sold Christie's East, 31 October 2000, lot 315 ($37,600).
