Located at 8, Rue Charlot in 1860, the firm became known as Lemerle-Charpentier from 1870-1890. At the Paris Exhibition Universelle of 1878, the bronziers Lemerle-Charpentier exhibited garnitures, vases, torchères, and an impressive example of Piat's grande horloge, examples of which were sold Sotheby's New York, November 3, 1999, lot 514, and in the same rooms on September 12, 1996, lot 453.
