The self-powering keyless rack clock was first introduced at the Crystal Palace British Industries Fair in 1920, patents having been taken out in 1919 by Thomas Watson and Christopher Webb. Marketed initially under the name of the Watson Clock Company and then under the name of the Kee-Less Clock Company as 'The Silent Kee-Less Clock'. The wall version is wound from the side.
