The Poole Company started business between 1920 and 1924. It was sold to the Morse Chain Co. in 1932. Morse was subsequently sold to Borg-Warner, who closed the business down in 1934. In 1937 the operation was taken over by Barr Manufacturing, who continued to make clocks based on Poole designs. See also lots 15 and 16.
