The lift-off cover signed on its glazed front SMITHS ENGLISH CLOCK SYSTEMS, painted dial, dead beat escapement with half seconds invar pendulum -- 16 in. (41 cm.) high

Lot Essay

With the Smith's Memory Master the power of the spring is kept topped up by an electric motor. If the power fails the spring continues to run the clock. When the power is subsequently resumed the slave dials will step up to the time shown by the master clock.
