The case with glass panels to top and sides and silver-plated front panel, silvered and engraved dial with subsidiary seconds ring, signed MADE BY/THOMAS MERCER ST.ALBANS, ENG. and numbered NO.747, with repeat signature to the platform of the chronometer escapement with invar helical spring, free sprung, rewound at short intervals by electric impulse -- 12 in. (51 cm.) wide
