The silvered and engraved dial of regulator format, with recessed seconds and hours rings, blued steel hands, wound through the winding collet, the eight day movement with tapered plates with four front and back screwed pillars, weight-driven with jewelled pallets to the Graham dead beat escapement, jewels to escape wheel and pallet arbor, with stopwork to winding barrel and maintaining power, the three-quarter second type J invar pendulum inscribed RIEFLER/MÜNCHEN/D.R.P./190870/1302 -- 39½ in. (101 cm.) high

COMPARATIVE LITERATURE:
Dieter Riefler, Riefler Präzision-pendeluhren von 1890-1965, Callwey, 1981.
As well as producing them for their own precision clocks, Riefler sold pendulums to a number of other makers of high quality clocks. The movement of the present clock is, not surprisingly, very well finished.
