Lot Essay

The Countess of Flanders (1845-1912), née Princess Maria of Hohenzollern-Sigarmingen married Philippe, Count of Flanders (1837-1912), younger brother of King Leopold II of Belgium in 1867. After her marriage she was called Marie de Flandre.
