To Mr. Marston, suggesting titles for a publication by Harpers(?): "Your kind letter (received last night) contained nothing from Harpers, but something better, for wh. Please find receipt. How would 'Slain by the Doone,' or 'The sad fate of the Squire' (A record of Doone) do for my title? The story is told by the Squire's daughter." Sadleir 227.
