J. W. GOLDMAN
A Catalogue of the Collection of Books relating to the Game of Cricket formed by J. W. Goldman Esq.
London: Hodgson, 24 November 1966. 8vo., frontispiece and 3 full-page title facsimiles, original pink wrappers with blue border, inserted price list. Annotated by Desmond Eagar with some 100 B.I. lots marked in red, and the cost of his own after sales purchases (or figures Goldman was asking for privately, presumably before the auction) in blue.
The annotations make it clear that "Hartridge", "Herwin", "Neale" and other names which appear on the price list are fictitious, and actually represent bought in lots, a number of which Eagar subsequently purchased from Goldman. Allen Catalogue of Catalogues 26; Padwick 22.
