An Indian Sword, North India, late 18th Century
The single-edged watered-steel blade becoming double-edged at the tip, the spine carved and inlaid with gold dragooning, similar band along the lower edge before the blade starts, gold damascened floral designs by the hilt, the hilt covered with small panels of gold floral sprays on a stippled silver ground, brown felt-covered wooden sheath with shagreen chape -- 30 7/8in. (78.6cm.) long
