Included with the manuscript is a hand written note signed by a Cecil Graham, Beirut, March, 1862.
"This curious book of the Druzes was captured by the Turkish soldiers under Ismail Pasha (....) in 1861. Had a ... about ... in the Lebanon. The old priest (okkat) was surprised with it in his hands, and the Turks thinking he hid ..... killed him in their disappointment.
