Paris: Imprimerie Simon Raçon et Comp. for Librairie Nouvelle, 1856. 8° (215 x 132mm), half title (scattered light spotting, ?lacking (?blank) 23/4), contemporary hard-grain crimson morocco gilt by Lardière, boards with gilt arms of Napoléon III [Olivier 2659, fer 3], enclosed by double gilt fillet panels with foliate cornerpieces within triple gilt fillet borders, roll-tooled gilt turn-ins, spine gilt in compartments, lettered in one, the others panelled and decorated with foliate tools, moiré endpapers, gilt edges (extremities very lightly rubbed, lower hinge split, glue-marking on endpapers). Provenance: Charles-Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte (1808-1873, binding). A BINDING BY LARDIèRE FOR EMPEROR NAPOLéON III.
