II-X (occasional light spotting or light marking, a few gatherings lightly browned, occasional marginal paper flaws, gathering VII/5O repeated), contemporary French red morocco gilt, boards with arms of August III of Poland, triple-fillet borders, gilt board edges and turn-ins, spines gilt in compartments, gilt morocco lettering-pieces in 2, others decorated with floral and star tools, gold-printed patterned endpapers, gilt edges (some light rubbing and scuffing, some minor chipping and bumping to extremities, some joints with superficial cracking, some discoloration and staining to endpapers). Provenance: Klemens Wenzeslaus, King August III of Poland (1696-1763, bookplates) -- '27[sic].v.35 A , Hb XI Vol' (inscription on upper pastedown of vol. I, possibly referring to the Heber copy, sale 26 May 1835 [i.e. A-B], lot 528) -- [comte Octave de Béhague (1826-1879) -- James de Rothschild (cf.
