Rome: Giacomo Tornieri, 1589. 2 parts in one volume, 4° (235 x 160mm), woodcut arms of the dedicatee on title, woodcut headpieces and initials (some spotting and browning), contemporary limp vellum. Provenance: BELLISARIO BULGARINI (3 presentation inscriptions in Bulgarini's hand recording the presentation of the book to him by Bosio) -- deleted stamp on title -- Bibliotheca Hierosolymitana (circular book-label). PRESENTATION COPY by the translators to Bellisario Bulgarini (1539-1619), the noted Dante scholar, poet, ambassador and erudite man of letters. Born to a good Sienese family, he played an important part in that city's affairs, both literary (he became a member of the Accademia degli Intronati at the age of nineteen) and diplomatic.
