A GILT-SILVER JADE EMBELLISHED COVERED SQUARE BOX
The box is formed of square cross section, the gilt-silver frame mounting four Ming dynasty white jade plaques forming the vertical sides, the panels carved in openwork with a dragon amidst floral scrolls divided by a similarly carved qilin gambolling within a bracket lobed cartouche, the cover of Qing dynasty spinach-green jade reticulated with a floral bloom against a leafy ground, all raised on a splayed foot of spinach-green jade similarly carved at each of the four corners with a ruyi-head, the interior lined with transparent glass, the base inscribed, 'Sterling' and 'Edward I Farmer Inc'
