Finely painted to the rounded sides with a mallow-flower scroll above a formal trident-border and another of stylised stiff lappets surrounding the foot rim, the interior with a further flowerhead

Compare with a blue and white bowl and a doucai enamelled bowl of this rare pattern included in the O.C.S. Exbibition, Arts of the Ch'ing Dynasty, London, 1964, illustrated in the Catalogue, no. 115 and 195.
