Lot Essay

In 1994 Arad was invited to create an installation in the entrance hall of the Cartier Foundation (See also lot 179).
Commenting on the installation, Sudjic observed:
"The individual tables began to vanish, their mirror-like finish left them weightless and insubstantial. It was as if the ground floor of the gallery had been turned into a metal pond, or a pool filled to the lip with mercury."
