Lot Essay

The Hon. Stephen Coleridge was the son of Lord Coleridge, Lord Chief Justice of England and the brother of the sculptor the Hon. Gilbert Coleridge (1859-1953). He was trained as a barrister but also exhibited landscapes between 1886 and 1910 including at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists and The Alpine Club.
