An English turned and carved painted wooden doll, circa 1810
with inset glass eyes, 'stitched' brows and lashes with painted line over brows, kid arms with separately sewn fingers and rigid white painted legs, in original high waisted yellow glazed cotton frock, shift, petticoat and leather boots --12in. (31cm.) high (paint flaking from face and shoulders); and a dipped papier-mache pumpkin head baby doll with cloth body and wooden limbs with purple painted boots, wearing original cotton baby robes trimmed with large blue bows, circa 1860 --8½in.
