With nickel-finished lever movement, 36 jewels, the 21k gold rimmed rotor with engraved inscription 1594 - Gerard Mercator - 1994, the silvered dial with a black enamel map depicting Asia, Europe and Africa, the time indicated by hands resembling legs of the early hand-held compasses used by Gerardus Mercator, both moving in an arc over two sectors calibrated for 12 hours and 60 minutes with Arabic numerals, the circular case with stepped bezel, fluted lugs, glazed display screw back, together with a platinum Vacheron Constantin buckle, case, dial and movement signed
