With gilt-finished verge movement, pierced and engraved decorative cock, silvered regulator disc, turned baluster pillars, quarter repeating on a bell, small central dial indicating the time with Arabic numerals, the main portion of the dial showing a complictated automata, the figures in three-coloured gold and raised, the scene depicting a working man and woman collecting and chopping logs by the riverbank, her arm moving up and down with a small axe in her hand, a rotating water wheel beside a fountain where two additional faceted glass rods rotate to simulate running water, above are two cherubs with moving arms, each with hammers in their hands realistically striking the bells when the quarter repeating mechanism is activated, all set against a finely painted enamel background depicting the countryside, bridges, watermill and fountains, the pierced case with engraved scrolling decoration to the band, repeating mechanism operated by depressing the pendant, dial and movement signed
