With gilt-finished lever movement, bi-metallic compensation balance, polished steel lever work, quarter repeating on two steel gongs, gold cuvette, white enamel dial with Roman numerals, two fan-form sectors, one indicating grande and petite sonnerie, the other strike or silent mode, subsidiary seconds, the heavy finely engraved case depicting a central oval cartouche with Islamic writing, written around the edge in English God is the Best Protector, the cartouche flanked by two lions, parasols and tents, emblematic of exploration and travel, scroll decorative band, movement and dial signed, case and cuvette numbered
