comprising a carved tube possibly for needles, inscribed JOEL SUMMERS JANUARY 27 1812 HIS MAJESTYS SHIP ILLUSTRIOUS LYING IN BOMBAY WITH BLUE AT THE FORE and four depictions of ships; together with a circular carved wood patchbox with tortoiseshell lining, the lid depicing a storm and entitled NAUFRAGE DR WAISSEAUX and a rectangular carved wood snuffbox with gilt lining, carved with castles and a monogram with crown over.
