Lot Essay

Requisitioned from her regular passenger service in 1940 and re-classed H.M.S. Tynwald, she saved nearly 9,000 troops during Operation Dynamo at Dunkirk. She was sunk during Operation Torch, 12th November, 1942 [North African Landings] by the Italian submarine Argo.
