I've lent it/to Dick-de-la-Mare who/was wrapped up in it/when last I saw him' (on the reverse)

Lot Essay

The headed letter paper is written in Nicholson's hand, addressed to the poet Siegfried Sassoon and refers to the illustrations for 'Memoirs of a Fox Hunting Man' that was published late October 1929.
