Lot Essay

Jeremiah Russell (1786-1867) was born in West Camp, Ulster County, New York, the son of Ludwig and Catherine Fiero Russell. He married Elizabeth Moose (b. 1788), the daughter of Henry and Marie Moose, in 1806. In 1814 he moved his family to Saugerties, New York, where he was a merchant, banker and legislator.
