The inscription reads: Presented with Best wishes of the Directors, to ARTHUR MAURICE RICHARDSON Marine Underwriter 1932-1950 on his retirement after 47 years of valued service with the PHOENIX ASSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED and it's Allied Companies 30th June 1950'
The second inscription reads: 'Represented to The Company by MR JOHN RICHARDSON Following the death of his father in 1980
