The inscription reads: 'THIS PERPETUAL TROPHY WAS PROVIDED OUT OF THE PRIZE FUND RESERVE 1910 - 1948 IN RECOGNITION OF ALL THOSE VETERANS WHO FOUNDED AND INSPIRED THE BARDHILL SWIMMING CLUB'
