A SOUTH ARABIAN LIMESTONE PILLAR STELA FOR SALM
CIRCA 2ND CENTURY B.C.-2ND CENTURY A.D.
Rectangular in form, sculpted at the upper end with the head of a man in relief, his beard neatly trimmed and incised, his spade-shaped face with slightly arching brows, a long triangular nose and thin closed lips, the almond-shaped eyes inlaid in light stone with dark stone for the pupils, an inscription below identifying the deceased as Salm, preserving red pigment throughout
