A rare Gothic musical clock
the three train clock movement signed on the silvered dial, A. B. Savory & Sons 11 & 12 Cornhill, with fusee movement chiming on eight bells and striking on a gong, in oak Gothic case with stepped gables, carved finials and gargoyles, on massive seven stepped plinth with blind fret gothic frieze and tapped quadruple cluster-column legs, the plinth containing two lever-wind forte piano mandoline musical movements by Nicole Frères, Nos. 37557 and 36250, playing eight airs each, with plain brass bedplates and complex interlocking control system for clock actuation and conventional manual controls, the base and clock case stamped Gillet & Bland, Croydon -63in. (160cm) high, 44½in. (113cm) wide, the cylinders 22in. (56cm)
