the first, Suquamish, of deep flaring form, with oval base and rectangular rim, tightly woven of cedar root, the exterior imbricated overall with pale gold bear grass and dark brown cherry bark, each of the four sides decorated with a large linear element, alternating with elongated checkered devices, a series of small rectangles beneath the rim; the second, Thompson River, of rectangular form, woven of similar materials, the exterior with sparse imbricated geometric design in pale gold, black and red, a series of four hide loops attached below the rim
