A NORTHWEST COAST CARVED AND PAINTED STORAGE CHEST
carved of wood with red, black and green paint, composed of a beveled cedar base, surmounted by a kerfed and seamed rectangular panel, secured with tapering wood pins, and thick beveled lid, decorated on the front with a humanoid figure carved in high relief, flanked by formline designs carved in shallow relief, the sides with finely carved and painted totemic motifs, the back with painted circular face, flanked by ovoids and U-shapes
