With nickel-finished lever movement, jeweled to the hammers with screwed chatons, bi-metallic compensation balance, micrometer regulator, slide repeat between the lugs repeating on two gongs, silvered matte dial with applied Arabic and baton numerals, circular case with sculpted stepped lugs, case and movement numbered, dial and movement signed for Theodore B. Starr, with 14k tri-color gold bracelet and deployant clasp

Lot Essay

The style of the case would suggest that this piece would have been manufactured in the 1950's. The movement was most probably produced during the 1920's by Piguet. Several instances of small minute repeating movements later being incorporated into wristwatches are known.

The company of Theodore B. Starr were jewelers and silver casters in New York during the early part of the 20th century and were later taken over by Reed & Barton in 1918.
