Lot Essay

The present work is the squared drawing on which the painting of the same subject, know as Les Loges is based. The oil which was once in the collection of Denys Sutton (see lots 18 - 21) is catalogued in W. Baron, Sickert, London, 1973, no. 242 and is illustrated in L. Browse, Sickert, London, 1960, pl. 14.
