There are two key factors in Krugs outstanding quality and which separate them from almost all other producers. The first is the
Non-Vintage Grande Cuvée is given priority for blending over the
vintage releases, ie; the finest wines from each vintage are set aside for the Grande Cuvée blend before the vintage selection is made, not the other way around. The second factor is the fermentation of all wines in 205 litre Argonne oak barriques.
