More Médoc than most vintages of this Château, the tight structure of the 88 vintage is rather evident in this wine. Smoky, Worcester sauce with vanilla hints on the nose unwinding to black raspberry, granite and cedar flavors on the palate. Medium-bodied, tannic and quite long once it airs out. This is one to double-decant. JC
