AN INCREDIBLE PRIVATE CELLAR
79 LOTS, OVER 60 OWCs and FEATURING 17 CASES OF PETRUS
It simply does not get any more serious than a cellar that features nearly 20 OWCs of Château Pétrus, especially when all the great vintages from 1976 - 1992 are represented. Better still, they, along with the rest of the cellar, were all purchased upon release and stored unmoved in the same temperature and humidity controlled cellar ever since.
It is one thing to see a list such as this arrive on your desk, but it is quite another to see it in the cellar, OWC after OWC, and of course that great wall of Pétrus.
After moving from Europe to the New York area earlier last century, the family began what is now a very successful business. The family property purchased in the 1930s is still the family home and it is from this wonderful residence that these superb wines come.
Bringing with them a love of food and fine wine, it is not hard to tell that they clearly know what they are doing, not only in choice of wines, but also in storage conditions.
As time has gone by, the family requirements at the dinner table have lessened; so the time has come for a clear out.
Although small in size this cellar may be, in terms of provenance and quality it is almost unmatched.
